【前言】
•「煮字療飢」 是掛在輔苑社牆上的四個大字，因為很意外的翻到以前的信件，思緒就突然陷到時光燧道裡面，懷念起以前在社團的日子，我們以這4個字來激勵爬格子的辛勞，期許文人無敵的樣子，還蠻快樂的，當時真的做了很多瘋狂的事情。
• 印象最深刻的是那一年，我們人手一本「生命中不能承受之輕」，這個書名在我們心目中可是是最有氣質的語言，彷彿像愛上了米蘭．昆德拉 (Milan Kundera) 一樣，努力讀遍這本書的每一個章節，「媚俗」這2個字也因為這樣成了當時的口頭蟬，.....「生命中不能承受之輕」這本書現在還在你們的書架上嗎？

•「在媚俗作態的王國裡，心靈的專政是最高的統治。媚俗所引起的感情是一種大眾可以分享的東西，媚俗可以無須依賴某種非同尋常的情勢，是銘刻在人們記憶之中的某些基本印象把它派生出來的：忘恩負義的女兒，被冷落了的父親，草地上奔跑的孩子，被出賣的祖國，第一次戀情。」
• In the realm of kitsch, the dictatorship of the heart reigns supreme.The feeling induced by kitsch must be a kind the multitudes can share. Kitsch may not, therefore, depend on an unhave situation; it must derive form the basic images people have engraved in their memories; the ungrateful daughter, the neglected father, children running on the grass, the motherland betrayed, first love. •「媚俗引起兩種前後緊密相連的淚流。第一種眼淚說：看見孩子們在草地上奔跑著，多好啊！第二種眼淚說：和所有的人類在一起，被草地上奔跑的孩子們所感動，多好啊！第二種眼淚使媚俗更媚俗。」 (註1， p.277)
• Kitsch causes two tears to flow in quick succession.The first tear says: How nice to see children running on the grass!
• The second tear says: How nice to be moved, together with all mankind, by children running on the grass.
• It is the second tear that makes kitsch kitsch.( 註2， p.251)
•「地球上人的博愛將只可能以媚俗作態作為基礎。」
• The brotherhood of man on earth will be possible only on a base of kitsch. .( 註2， p.251)
※【後記】
• 重翻這本書，因著回憶，好像可以嗅出當年青春歲月的一些蛛絲馬跡，但是卻尋不到當時感動的心情，我覺得有些悲傷，領悟到原來有些事情都已經是那麼遙遠以前的惦念了…….關於「媚俗」啊，就將它留在昔日那個時候吧…..想跟我的舊朋友還有新朋友說，無論你們現在在那一個國家、在那個城市，都不要被現實打敗，還可以擁有一片天，和很多快樂，
